Wright Parker, 79, of Lincoln, passed away at Bayhealth Hospital in Milford on June 14. Parker owned a contracting company, “Wright Parker General Contracting” for over 40 years.
Parker was born in Orange, New Jersey, the son of the late Harold W. and Mary Riggs Parker. A Boy Scout from a young age, Parker achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, and endeavor that shaped his character. As an adult, parker gave back to his community through several organizations and served as past president of the Milford Rotary Club.
His company thrived under his leadership as he developed a reputation for hard work, integrity and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. Parker loved to travel, especially cruises that allowed him to explore new horizons and create lasting memories in places like Europe and Spain.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Bohannon Parker, his children and stepchildren, Allison Marie Parker, Jeremy Wilkinson and his wife, Candice; April Wilkinson, Travis Wilkinson and Emily Johnson and her husband, Dondrill “DJ.” He is also survived by two goddaughters, Melanie Donaway and her husband, Ike, along with Christina Thomas and her husband, Bob. Nine grandchildren survive him – MaKynlee, Kacie, Xavier, Adeline, Zyler, Dakota, Alani, Kinly and Jace. Parker is also survived by siblings Audrey Parker-Balteheser and her husband Earl; Bob Parker and his wife, Magi as well as a niece, Robynn Phalsgraff.
A memorial service was held on June 23 at Christian Tabernacle, 18940 Johnson Road, Lincoln. A family and friends’ visitation was held before the service from 11 AM to 1 PM. Parker was laid to rest in the Lincoln Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Wright to Parkinson Foundation.
