Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on June 12 near the Slaughter Beach Memorial Volunteer Fire Company. The incident occurred around 7:14 AM near 359 Bay Avenue.
Police say a 32-year-old man from Dover was attending a party at the pavilion behind the fire company when approximately three masked suspects arrived and began firing multiple rounds at those in attendance. The Dover man attempted to flee and was struck in a lower extremity. The suspects fled the scene before police arrived.
The injured attendee was taken to an area hospital where he was treated and released. The suspects were reportedly wearing all black clothing and black ski masks. It is currently unknown how they arrived or left the scene. No surveillance footage has been identified at this time.
