Delaware State Police have identified Michael Boros, 77, of Pennsylvania, as the victim of a fatal crash on May 16 in Greenwood. Boros was the driver of a Toyota Prius traveling southbound on Staytonville Road when he was struck by a Nissan Sentra.
According to police, the Boros failed to remain stopped at the intersection of Staytonville and Shawnee Road, entering the path of the Sentra, causing the Sentra to strike the driver’s side door of the Prius.
The driver of the Sentra, a 37-year-old male, a 26-year-old female passenger, as well as a 5-year-old male passenger, all from Bear, Delaware, were transported to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries. Boros was transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Team is still investigating the accident. Troopers are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to contact Senior Corporal J. Smith at 302-703-3267.
