Halloween is Saturday, October 31, but many Milfordians are not waiting until Saturday to get into the spirit. On Sunday, October 25, both Meding Seafood on Bay Road and Avenue United Methodist Church held “Trunk or Treat” events, offering an additional opportunity for children to collect sweets.
The Medings event also included a car show and advertised the event as a “super fun, safe family friendly event for families to come together and give children and adults a good time.” Organizers encouraged people to come decorate their trunk, dress up and pass out candy for approximately 1,000 children.
At Avenue, whose event was also October 25, attendees were encouraged to dress in their best costume for a night of “fun, fellowship and festivities.” In addition, attendees were asked to bring a canned good for the local food bank.
Both events were a success with many children enjoying the candy, decorated trunks and activities provided.
