The State of Delaware is reminding those over 65 that Medicare Open Enrollment began October 15 and will end December 7. During this period, consumers are able to join, switch or drop a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (Part D) or Medicare Advantage Plan. The Delaware Department of Insurance and its Medicare Assistance Bureau (DMAB) are offering appointments in all three counties to assist consumers with their enrollment.
“For the third consecutive year, the Medicare Assistance Bureau’s impressive results, saving Delawareans nearly 53.2 million in 2025, highlights the obvious and continuous need for unbiased, expert guidance during Open Enrollment,” Insurance Commissioner Trinidad Navarro said. “With a variety of options, annual plan changes, and federal cuts, it remains essential for beneficiaries to take advantage of free services like one-on-one counseling to ensure their coverage meets their health and financial needs.”
Although it is important to be aware of federal changes to Medicare, consumers should also be aware of local changes, including access to preferred medical providers.
