Kelley and Niki Morris, owners of both Sip & Simmer and the Alcohauler, are asking for help after an accident caused extensive damage to the trailer. The cost to repair the Alcohauler is estimated at $6,000.
“While they were on the way to a wedding, the trailer drifted onto the shoulder and flipped over,” Ariana Morris, daughter of the couple, said. “Thankfully, no one was hurt an that is something the family is deeply grateful for. Even so, the accident left behind extensive damage. The frame now needs to be welded back together, the AC unit had to be cut off so the trailer could be towed, the generator came loose during the accident and there is also damage to the door and the inside of the trailer.”
According to Ariana, the trailer is more than just equipment. It has been an important part of how they earn an income, so this accident has been an emotional and financial blow. A GoFundMe has been set up to raise funds so that the Morris’ can get it back in working order.
“Our family could really use your help right now,” a post on Sip & Simmer read. “This is not an easy post for us to make, but sometimes life throws more at you than you know how to handle.”
The post explained that the couple has been pouring their hearts, time and everything they have into Sip & Simmer, pushing forward even when things are not easy.
“Unfortunately, we’ve now been faced with another heartbreaking setback involving our trailer and it’s left our family feeling overwhelmed,” the post continued. “We are not a family that likes to ask for help. We would much rather be the ones giving back, helping others and putting smiles on people’s faces. But right now, we’re the ones in need of a little love and support.”
The Morris family is asking for donations of any amount, no matter how small. Anyone who cannot donate financially, they are asking to just share the GoFundMe with family and friends.
