A Milton man is scheduled to be sentenced in October after pleading guilty to three counts of home improvement fraud in Delaware Superior Court in Georgetown.
Christopher Russell, 47, pleaded guilty to the charges in August and is scheduled to be sentenced at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8. Home improvement fraud involving between $50,000 and $100,000 is a Class D felony in Delaware, carrying a maximum sentence of eight years in prison.
Delaware State Police began investigating Russell and his business, Great Outdoors Sunrooms and Shade Solutions, in March 2025. According to police, Russell entered into contracts with five customers in Kent and Sussex counties and received approximately $118,000 in payments for work that was either never started or never completed.
Police obtained warrants for Russell following the investigation. He turned himself in at Delaware State Police Troop 7 in October 2025.
Russell initially faced multiple felony charges, including several counts of home improvement fraud and theft. Some of the charges involved alleged victims over the age of 62.
He was later released on $23,000 unsecured bond.
Russell’s sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 8 in Superior Court in Georgetown.
