Although the Milford Public Library is getting a much-needed facelift, programs at the library will continue through the rest of August. There is still something for everyone at the library.
Teens can join the Boba Tea Workshop on Friday, August 21 at 2 PM and learn about the history of Taiwan’s favorite drink. Enjoy a boba tea but be sure to let the library know if you have any allergies so they can accommodate. Registration is required.
Walk around downtown Milford and play Pokemon GO! on Saturday August 22 at 11 AM. Trainers will meet in front of the library by the downstairs entrance and make stop at several gyms and pokestops downtown. The walk will conclude back at the library. The event will be held inside the library if there is inclement weather. There is both a teen and children’s version of the event. Registration is required.
LEGO Club will meet on Tuesday, August 25 at 5:30 PM with each participant receiving a small individual LEGO set to create their own masterpiece. Registration is required.
On August 27 at 1 PM, teens can turn their Pokemon cards into magnets. They can bring their own cards, or the library will provide some with all other materials provided. Registration is limited and required for this fun program.
At 5:30 PM the same day, join the library children’s staff, Nemours and Polytech Parents as Teachers for a night of Literacy and Language Learning. Each month, this program focuses on activities that inspire a love of learning, reading and social skills with a different theme, book and activities. The summer sessions are especially fun as they have giveaways for everyone.
On Saturday, August 29 at 11 AM, children can enjoy Back to School BINGO with prizes and giveaways that are school themed. Play BINGO and win a cool folder, pencil case or supplies for back to school. There will also be door prize raffle tickets distributed to all children who participate. Simply drop in for this fun event.
While the library is undergoing renovations, they ask that all teen and adult programs undergo registration as it allows the library to remain in contact with attendees and provide instructions on where to enter the program. Be sure to include an email with registration.
Reminder, if you cannot attend a program, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance so the library can offer the space ot someone on the waitlist. Missing two programs without notice may result in a temporary suspension of registration privileges.
