Mildred Jensen, a longtime Milford resident remembered for her kindness, generosity, and award-winning baking, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, in Delmar. She was 103, just days shy of her 104th birthday.
Born Aug. 7, 1922, in Odessa, Jensen spent more than 30 years working for L.D. Caulk while dedicating her life to her family, faith, and community.
A faithful member of Avenue United Methodist Church, Jensen was known for her quiet generosity and the warmth she brought to those around her. She loved spending time at home and found joy in creating handmade cakes and candies that she freely shared with family and friends. Her baking talents earned her several ribbons and awards at the Delaware State Fair.
Jensen and her husband, the late Robert John Jensen, shared 56 years of marriage and were well known for rarely being apart. Friends and family fondly remember the couple for coordinating their outfits, a reflection of the close partnership and affection they shared throughout their lives.
She is survived by several loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Mildred Milbourn, and her siblings, Sarah Cooper, Ralph Milbourn, Richard Milbourn, Esther Shockley, and Ida Lake.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at Milford Community Cemetery on North DuPont Boulevard in Milford.
Memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice or Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford.
