On June 7, a 97-year-old Dollar Tree shopper was seriously injured when a vehicle crashed through the front of the store. In addition to that injury, a 76-year-old woman in the store as well as the 44-year-old female driver, were also injured.
According to police, for reasons still under investigation, a gold Hyundai Elantra was traveling northbound in the parking lot of Cypress Hall Shopping Center when it left the roadway and crashed into the storefront. The vehicle came to a stop at the back of the store.
The 97-year-old victim was airlifted to a local hospital where she was listed in stable, but critical, condition. The 76-year-old, injured by falling debris, was transported to a local hospital where she was treated and released. The driver of the car was also transported to the hospital and released after treatment for minor injuries. No identities have been released.
