Milford Police Department were able to identify John A. Carey, Jr., 26, of Dover as the person who attempted to burglarize the DelOne branch in Milford.
On January 8, Milford Police Department reported to DelOne Federal Credit Union on Credit Union Way in Milford with reported damage to glass in the entrance.
Police obtained the bank’s video surveillance and saw a male subject attempting to gain entry into the bank using a rock. The rock caused a hole in the glass front door.
Carey was arrested on January 9 and charged with attempted burglary in the third degree, attempted theft of $1500 or greater, criminal mischief of $5,000 or more and criminal trespass in the third degree.
After a presentment through Justice of the Peace Court 11, Carey was committed to the Department of Correction in default of $4,050 secured bond. He was ordered to have no contact with any DelOne Federal Credit Union location and to appear at a later date in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas for a preliminary hearing.
