Jashaun Johnson, 23, of Selbyville, was arrested for a shooting incident that seriously injured a 22-year-old man. On June 21, an arrest warrant was issued for Johnson and, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s First State Fugitive Task Force, investigators were able to take Johnson into custody without incident on July 9 in Smyrna.
Johnson was charged with attempted murder first degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and criminal mischief over $1,000. He had a presentment in Justice of the Peace Court 2 and was committed to Department of Correction on $551,000 cash bond.
A no contact order was issued between the victim and Johnson who will appear at a later date in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas for a preliminary hearing.
