Ride to the Tide is planned for Sunday, April 13

The rumble of motorcycles will fill the air on Sunday, April 13 as riders across the area join the 18th Annual Ride to the Tide, benefitting Special Olympics Delaware. This is a fun, police-escorted ride from Smyrna to Milford.

“Riders will gather starting at 9 AM at Rommel Harley-Davidson in Smyrna for refreshments and comradery,” Alex Seymore, Director of Digital Media for Special Olympics, said. ‘Kickstands go up at 11 AM and participants travel a scenic 36.5-mile journey with no stops at traffic lights, ending at Nemours Children’s Health in Milford around noon.”

Easy Speak Spirits Events

The ride is organized by the Delaware Blue Knights Chapter 1 and one of the most highly anticipated events for motorcycles in the area. The ride is in partnership with Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Delaware, DelDOT, Delmarva Power, Rommel Harley-Davidson and Draper Media.

“This is more than just a scenic ride, it is a show of support and inclusion for over 4,000 Special Olympics athletes across Delaware,” Lisa Smith, Senior Director of Marketing and Development, said. “The enthusiasm and generosity of our riders and supporters reflect the heart of our community and we are grateful for their dedication to our athletes.”

Registration for the event can be completed online and there is also a paper registration option.
