The spring family production for Second Street Players this year will be “Peter Pan and Wendy,” an adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s original novel. Loopy fun with dark corners, this version of the book is fast-moving.
“When Peter Pan flies into the nursery of the Darling home, Wendy follows her natural maternal instincts to help him, taking her brothers to magical Neverland in order to take care of the Lost Boys,” Tracy Dissinger, President of Second Street Players, said. “However, the Darling’s are soon swept up in a deadly battle with Captain Hook his pirate crew, Peter and the boys.”
John H. Hulse and Rachel Loper will direct the play which was adapted by Doug Rand and produced with special arrangements with Playscripts, Inc. Performances will be held at the Riverfront Theater, 2 South Walnut Street with show dates March 27, 28, 29 and 30. Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7 PM with Sunday’s show beginning at 2 PM.
“Thursday night’s performance is “pay what you can at the door” donations only,” Dissinger said. “Ticket prices for the remaining shows are $10 for children and $12 for adults. Member, student and senior prices are $10.”
Tickets may be purchased online at the Second Street Players website. Patrons who need assistance may email the theater group or leave a message at 302-422-0220.
