
The Milford Public Library will offer many fun and creative activities during the month of November. These programs are in addition to their regular programs which include ESOL, Medicare information, teleservices and more.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays in November, try chair yoga. This is a form of yoga that can be done while seated or standing using a chair for support. The exercises help improve flexibility, concentration, balance and strength. Not only can you become more fit, but you can also boost your mood and reduce stress. Join the class Tuesday’s at 2 PM or Thursdays at 3 PM. Registration is required and can be completed online.
“Have you ever wanted to learn how to read Hebrew? Well, now is your chance,” Lea Rosell, Executive Director of the library, said. “The good thing about our lessons are that they are designed for “come as you are able.” That means if you miss a class here or there, you can still benefit. We also explore some Biblical and cultural concepts in the class. The workbook you need is provided by the library.”
Learn to read Hebrew will be offered on Mondays in November at 3:30 PM in the Bailey Room.
The Cookbook Club meets November 10 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. This month’s cookbook is “Hors d”oeuvres by Victoria Blashford-Snell and Eric Treuille. The club explores, discovers and shares with friends each month. Just choose a recipe to prepare for the meeting from the cookbook and bring it to the club for sampling. Stop by the circulation desk to choose your recipe. Registration is required and can be completed here.
“Just a reminder, the library will provide plates, plastic ware, disposable cups, bowls and bottled water,” Rosell said. “We just ask that you bring a serving spoon for your dish. We also want to remind those with food allergies that we cannot guarantee the food served has not come into contact with nuts, soy or other allergens.”

The Children’s Library will hold a beaded corn craft project on November 12 between 3 PM and 6:30 PM. This is a special seasonal craft that have children stringing colorful beads on pipe cleaners. This activity helps develop fine motor skills while allowing children to create a fun fall craft. All supplies are provided.
Teens will love making their own fake bug taxidermy while learning about various critters on November 12 from 4 to 5 PM. Select a bug miniature figurine, paint it, glue it on a decorated plaque for a unique art piece. All materials are provided. For more information, email the teen center.
“We will be celebrating America Recycles Day a little early on November 13 with an upcycled can diorama project for teens,” Rosell said. “Teens can make mini dioramas using old, but clean, cans. All materials including figurines and cans will be provided, but feel free to bring your own can if you choose.”
Unique Crafts by Donna will provide a DIY Sand Art Planter project where adults can take home a plant nestled in sand art they created. All materials are provided, but registration is required.
“We also want to remind everyone of our Thrive Together Resource Fair on Saturday, November 15 from 10 AM to 1 PM,” Rosell said. “This is a free event with local services, support programs, giveaways and family fun. We are offering this in partnership with Women Beyond Measure.”
Children will enjoy creating a trap for a turkey using toothpicks and marshmallows. Once they are finished, they will have a sweet snack. This is a great S.T.E.M. project for youth and will be held November 15 from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Tween Tuesday will be held November 18 at 5:30 PM featuring fall luminary jars. This project lets young people create a glowing decoration to add to the family’s holiday decorations. The library will also offer cider and cookies. The project is designed for children ages 9 to 12 and the light provided is battery operated. All instructions and supplies provided.
Children up to 12 will enjoy creating a scarecrow teddy bear on November 22 at 11 AM. All materials are provided to create a brand-new friend for your child. Registration is required.
