Friends and family are still reeling from the loss of Kyle Tribble, the 37-year-old shot and killed on July 10 during an argument in Windward Grove. Joseph Greene, 42, has been charged with his murder.
“I’m at a loss for words but got so many to say. I loved you to death, Trib,” Preston Payne posted on social media.
Tribble’s cousin remembered him as a baby.
“My baby cousin, I’m going to miss you like crazy!” Jerona Spencer posted. “You were my first baby. Yana and I used to fight over you every time Uncle Kev would bring you to the house. You are back in your mother’s arms. Give all my guardians kisses please.”
Crystal Primus watched Tribble grow up and remembered him as a great kid.
“To my first Philly friend, Tribblerzzz,” Kelsey Locklear said. “The first person who taught me what “Young Bull” meant. You will be truly missed. Meeting you in high school was an honor and your family always welcomed us with open arms at so many cookouts, you will always be family to me. Your NC friends are so proud of the man you were becoming. You always said you wanted to go back home and make a difference and you did.”
According to Tribble’s father, he was an employee of the Philadelphia school system. Although the investigation is still ongoing, reports are that Tribble went to the residence of an acquaintance who reported Greene was trying to look at her in the shower. Tribble confronted Greene and an argument ensued, resulting in Tribble being shot in the upper arm and shoulder.
Witnesses performed CPR on Tribble until first responders arrived, but despite their efforts, Tribble succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
His death has left the community in mourning, and he is remembered as a kind-hearted and generous person. Friends shared that he was always there to help them and that he would be dearly missed.
Services were held on July 19 at the Batchelor Brothers Inc. funeral home in Drexel Hill with burial in Fernwood Cemetery in Landsdowne, Pennsylvania. Remembrances can be left on the memory wall at Batchelor Brothers funeral home.
