On August 1, downtown Milford will be filled with the flair of various cultures as Downtown Milford Inc. brings a Multicultural Festival to First Friday. The event begins at 4 PM and ends at 9 PM with live performances, food trucks, vendors and more.
“Milford is a town filled with so many cultures,” Sade Truiett, Downtown Milford Coordinator said. “This event is designed to highlight as many of those cultures as we can. We are excited to bring some new entertainment to our First Friday event this month thanks to a generous sponsorship from Bayhealth.”
Entertainment planned for the event include Twinkle’s Dance Academy and Bollywood Workshop who will perform traditional Indian dances. There will also be an African dance group along with Irish dancers who will perform during the event.
“We would love to see people at the event representing their own culture,” Truiett said. “Come in your kilt and tartan plaid. Wear your tribal clothing or don a t-shirt displaying the culture of your choice!”
Food trucks at the event include Top Five BBQ, Delicias la Chikkita, Taqueria Martinez, Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee, Mama D’s Kitchen, Kay’s Kitchen, White & Associates plus more. Local artisans will be on hand with their own merchandise in the Artisan’s Market, located where the Farmer’s Market takes place on Saturday. Little Farm will be on hand with a petting zoo as well.
