
Milford School District recently announced their “March Treasures,” staff members nominated by their peers for exemplifying qualities that align with the district’s strategic plan. The district “treasures” are announced monthly.
Lisa Caccamise, a school psychologist, exemplifies academic excellence according to the person who nominated her.
“Ms. Caccamise is an extremely busy school psychologist and excels in conducting thorough psychological evaluations and assessments while adhering to strict deadlines,” the nomination read. “Her ability to manage multiple cases at once, without compromising the quality of her work, has been crucial in ensuring that students are accurately identified for necessary services such as special education, counseling or individualized interventions. Ms. Caccamise is extremely professional in meetings supporting students and families. She maintains a strong collaborative approach, working closely with teachers, parents and administrators to address student needs holistically. Milford is lucky to have her.”

Nominated for empowering and investing in MSD people, Angela Dominick, a social-emotional learning teacher at Evelyn I. Morris Early Childhood Center, hears and listens to those around her.
“She is in the hallways each day, not just hearing but listening to staff, bringing positivity to negative situations and ensuring each person feels cared for and connected with,” the nomination read. “Ms. Dominick takes the time to leave multiple thoughtful gifts with poems on them for staff in our building. She makes small gestures without even realizing she is bringing joy to so many! She teaches in each classroom and is respectful of the teacher’s environment. Ms. Dominick truly loves and values Milford. We are grateful to work with her!”
Molly Chorman, a Milford High School teacher, was recognized also recognized for empowering and investing in MSD.

“Ms. Chorman works tirelessly to connect with students and members of the community,” the nomination read. “She ensures students in her pathway develop a love for education and giving back. She also is the leader of Santa’s Workshop which serves all the Pre-K and Kindergarten students to provide a magical Christmas filled ay while also serving the high school students with the opportunity to give back to their community and positive role model. These are two great examples of how Ms. Chorman invests in our community and students.”
Recognized for supporting the whole student, Sara McNulty is a teacher at Milford Central Academy.

“Students need to be pushed academically and held to high expectations,” the nomination read. “Mrs. McNulty always models the skills needed for this, but then hands off the responsibilities to the students so that they take control of their own learning. Mrs. McNulty also does so much more to invest in her students. She runs a class reward system to recognize the students’ behaviors and efforts, providing them with treats. Mrs. McNulty also takes the time to really get to know her kids and to build the personal relationships that let students know that they are truly cared for in her room. Whether that is making jokes, talking about music or the hobbies that they share, she always finds a way to make connections.”
