MPD seeking public’s assistance with cold cases

Milford Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in solving several cold cases they have listed on their website. One case is 50 years old while the most recent occurred in 2013.

On November 9, 2013, Milford Police Department was dispatched to Valley Run Apartments which is now known as the Reserves at Saw Mill, They found Martin E. Fowler, 23, dead of multiple gunshot wounds and no suspect has been charged in his murder. The police are asking anyone with information to contact them and refer to Case Number: 51-13-11394.

The second case occurred in a vacant lot about a quarter mile south of Mispillion Apartments. Milford Police were notified that a body had been located on the vacant lot. That body was later identified as Carlton May, Jr., 28. He died from a gunshot wound and the police are asking anyone with information to contact them and refer to Case Number 51-12-12774.

The last case is Hazel Mason, 49. Police were asked to check on her welfare when she did not report for work on July 17, 1975. After forcing entry into the home around 12;20 PM, they located Mason lying on the floor deceased. It was later determined she died of strangulation. There were no signs or evidence of burglary or sexual assault. Any information can be called into the detectives at Milford Police Department and refer to Case Number 51-75-0247.
