A review of the Milford Police Department Crime Map, available on their website, reveals patterns of crime throughout the city. The majority of crime that occurred over January and February were theft or assault charges.
There were approximately 25 theft-related arrests in Milford and those incidents ranged from shoplifting to removal of items from buildings. There were 19 assaults with about six of them clustered in north Milford. The charges for these crimes ranged from reckless endangerment and terroristic threatening to offensive touching.
There were five burglaries in the city and 13 instances of disturbing the peace. Two were disorderly conduct with alcohol involvement while there were eight instances of fraud. The fraud charges consisted of illegal use of credit cards and theft by false pretense or promise.
Driving under the influence continues to be a significant problem in Milford with over 20 arrests over the past two months. There was also one report of a motor vehicle theft in Milford. One arrest was for a weapons charge and is listed as carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
The good news is that there were no homicides, robberies, sex crimes or arsons in the city over the past few months.
