Milford Pop Warner is asking for assistance from the community. The organization needs sponsorships to continue fostering local sports teams which provide students between the ages of 5 and 12 with a safe place to become physically active and make good peer connections.
“We would like to feature your company as a sponsor at our events,” a letter from the board of directors issued recently, read. “We would also feature your company on our website and social media. This contribution would be tax deductible as we are a 501(c)3.”
The letter continued, stating that sponsorships begin at $250 with business and logo advertisements on the Pop Warner website and social media pages. For $500, sponsors receive the same benefits as the $250 level, but also a business logo on their 2025 sponsorship banners displayed at events and games. A $1,000 plus sponsorship gets those benefits plus advertisement on the concession trailer, which is not only present at home games, but also local events. This level of sponsorship also includes two tickets to the end of the year banquet and recognition for support at that event.
“Over the past two years, Milford Pop Warner brought home five first place Henlopen Cheer Championships, an 8U football championship at the Henlopen Football Championships, a 10U appearance at the Henlopen Football Championships and sent eight cheer and football teams to the Eastern Region Regional Championships,” the letter continued. “We also brought home a bid to Pop Warner Nationals in Florida and sent two teams to Global Cheer Championships where they ended with a second-place finish.”
Milford Pop Warner boasts 75 Carl Walls Scholastic Award winners and 45 Easter Region All American Scholastic Award winners. These awards represent outstanding academic achievements during the season. Sponsorships also helped the organization add team bonding activities and rewards for athletes who, in addition to outstanding performance on the field and in the classroom, attended many local events.
“In 2023, our organization grew by over 40 percent,” the letter stated. “While we are elated to see many new athletes out on the field, this also meant we had to purchase new uniforms and equipment. As a result, we had over 100 helmets due to be reconditioned this year as is required every two years for safety reasons. That is anticipated to cost more than $8,500.”
Pop Warner cheer uniforms were discontinued in 2024, requiring the organization to purchase new ones at a cost of $5,000. This has led to them requesting additional assistance from the local community.
