Last Wednesday evening, the Milford Little League Junior Softball team dropped their first game of the tournament season. In losing the game to Western Sussex 8-7, Milford put themselves squarely on the brink of elimination. In order to make the East Regional, Milford would have to win two games the following night, to punch their ticket to Wilkes-Barre. That would be just what Milford would do as they won last Thursday’s games 12-8 and 14-5.
After a few days of frantic fundraising, Milford is in Pennsylvania with dreams of continuing their quest of qualifying for the Little League World Series, in Kirkland, Washington. The community should plan to open their wallets to support these girls if they win. However, Milford will be just one of nine quality teams in the tournament, scheduled to run from July 17th to 22nd. Their first opponent will be New York, scheduled for Friday morning at 9 am. While the task is tall, it’s not impossible for this dedicated group of young women.
We hope to provide you updates as they become available over the next few days.
Let’s go, Bucs!
