Milford Police Department’s website offers insight to crime in the city. Through a partnership with Crime Mapping, the department can provide in real time information on crimes happening in city limits. The application has been available on the website since 2015.
“A helpful feature of this program is that you can sign up to get alerts when a crime occurs in your location,” then-Chief Kenneth Brown said. “For example, your business. The crime noted on Crimemapping.com is a representation of crime within the city and is not all inclusive. For example, a crime deemed sensitive in nature may not appear on the crime map.”
The Crimemap, which can be found here, shows various crimes that have occurred recently in an area. For instance, they may show a robbery, burglary, assault or driving under the influence. There is no information about the victim or the suspect on Crimemapping, but it provides information on what type of crimes occur in certain areas or at certain times in the town.
