The lawns of Causey Mansion will be filled with tie-dye, fringe, mini-skirts and go-go boots when the 6th Annual Hippiefest takes place on August 16 from 3 to 8 PM. The event is the largest fundraiser held by the museum.
“We will have live music by the Funsters and DJ Dana McDonald,” Tom Summers, Executive Director of the museum, said. “There will be contests, food trucks and other vendors there as well.”
The event is BYOB and guests are encouraged to dress in 60s and 70s attire, although it is not required. All guests must be 21 or older and provide a valid photo ID to attend. Bring a chair or blanket to relax on the lawn to enjoy the music. Sorry, no pets are permitted.
“We are still looking for sponsors,” Summers said. “A Happiness Sponsorship is $250 while the Love Sponsorship is $500. Our Peace Sponsorship is $1,000. All sponsorships can be purchased online.”
The cost for tickets to the event is $40 per person until July 31. Starting August 1, the cost is $45 and at the gate tickets will be $50. They can be purchased online, at the museum or at the event. Cash or card will be accepted at the gate. No e-tickets are issued when purchasing online. Simply provide the name the ticket was purchased under to the gate attendants to be granted entrance.
