Not only does the Milford Museum preserve the history of Milford and display it for everyone to enjoy, but they also have a gift shop with fun items for those on your gift list. Handmade jewelry featuring the ladybug, which became the Delaware State bug thanks to a second-grade classroom at Lulu Ross Elementary School. They also have Christmas ornaments featuring the museum, Causey Mansion and The Towers. For the history lover on your list, you can also find a wide selection of books about Milford history.
Milford Museum is located in the original post office that served Milford. The museum is run by volunteers with one paid staff member. Displays include details on the rich shipbuilding industry in town, a military room and an African American exhibit. Displays change periodically to provide more insight into Milford’s past.
The museum houses over 13,000 artifacts and is located at 121 South Walnut Street, across from City Hall. They are open Tuesday through Friday from 10 AM to 3 PM.
