Delaware State Police are investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Friday night, October 31, 2025, on South Dupont Highway near Tower Hill Road.
According to investigators, around 9:00 p.m., a Ford Fusion was traveling northbound on South Dupont Highway and entered a center crossover, preparing to turn left onto Tower Hill Road. At the same time, an Infiniti G37 was traveling southbound in the right lane of the highway approaching the same intersection. For reasons still under investigation, the Ford crossed in front of the Infiniti, resulting in the Infiniti’s front striking the right side of the Ford.
The impact caused the Ford to leave the roadway and strike a utility pole. The driver of the Ford, identified as 64-year-old Lorenza Bailey Jr. of Milford, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Infiniti, a 19-year-old man from Milford, was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The roadway was closed for approximately four and a half hours while members of the Delaware State Police Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated and cleared the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing. Troopers are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has information relevant to the incident to contact Sergeant J. Wilson at (302) 698-8518.
