Delaware State Police arrested Shymier Olden, 21, of Milford, after an accident in which he was riding a motorcycle stolen in 2023. The crash occurred near Milton.
According to police, on September 22, troopers responded to reports of a motorcycle accident on Isaacs Road north of the Milton-Ellendale Highway. A Suzuki GSX-600L, driven by Olden, was traveling northbound on the road when he failed to negotiate a curve causing him to exit the east side of the road.
The investigation revealed that prior to the crash, Olden was driving aggressively, passing on the shoulder and traveling at a high rate of speed. A computer check revealed that the motorcycle was not registered, had no insurance and that it was stolen two years prior.
Olden suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital. After he was released, he was arrested and taken to Troop 7 where he was charged with receiving stolen property value over $1,500; aggressive driving; driving a vehicle at an unreasonable or imprudent speed; overtaking/passing on the right; failure to have required insurance; multiple traffic violations.
Olden was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on his own recognizance.
NOTE:Â Anyone charged in this case is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
