Milford Advocacy for the Homeless (MAH) announced speakers for their “Together We Serve” series, a virtual speaker series held each month. The series is designed to spotlight organizations and individuals making a positive impact on homelessness, housing insecurity and human services in Delaware.
“The series is held on the first Friday of every month with the August event planned for August 2 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM,” Martha Gery, Founder and President of MAH said. “We’re so excited to keep building bridges between service providers, local residents and advocates through “Together We Serve.” The program allows us to elevate the work of so many local heroes while also informing and inspiring the public to take part in meaningful community action.”
Carolyn Briggs of Gateway Clothing Connection is a volunteer Christian ministry providing gently used clothing for men, women and children. All clothing is given free of charge to help families in the community. Briggs will talk about her clothing ministry and community outreach.
The other speaker at the August event will be Alta M. Porterfield, a statewide social innovator with Delaware Libraries. Porterfield will discuss how to access telehealth services through the Delaware library system.
“We are always looking to spotlight impactful organizations and initiatives,” Gery said. “Presenters can choose a 15- or 30-minute slot to share about their services, schedules and how the public can engage or receive support.”
The “Together We Serve” series is free and open to anyone. It is part of the MAH Roundtable, an open community discussion how we as a community can move forward to assist the homeless in Milford.
