Cato, Inc. the franchise owner of Arby’s in Milford presented Milford High School with a check for $355.35. The funds were raised during the Milford Arby’s one-year anniversary Customer Appreciation Day.
“Cato Inc. pledged 10 percent of the day’s sales to support Milford High School,” Trish Gerken, Public Information Officer for Milford School District, said. “The celebration included games, prizes, giveaways and community engagement as a way to thank Milford for its continued support.”
The event was attended by Chris Mergner, COO of Cato Inc. and presented the check. While in Milford, Mergner learned more about Milford’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway, including culinary arts. Conversations also focused on opportunities to deepen the partnership through potential work-based learning experiences, student networking and future collaboration.
“We are grateful to Cato Inc. and the Milford Arby’s team for investing back into our students and school community,” Travis Moorman, Superintendent, said. “Partnerships like this highlight the strong connections between our schools and local businesses.”
Milford Arby’s opened August 2024 and from the opening, employed approximately 30 local team members. The restaurant is one of 13 locations owned and operated by Cato Inc. across the Delmarva Peninsula.
