One of the best ways to run off those extra holiday calories is with a 5k and several are available over the next week. Although there are not scheduled for Milford, there are a few that are within a half hour drive.
The Run with Santa 5k at Cape Henlopen State Park is planned for December 20. The cost is $35 and the race starts at 10 AM. The cost increases after December 19. Sponsored by the Let Me Run Boys Organization, the event offers a run or walk option. Register by visiting here.
The 21st Race Into the New Year 5k and Kids Dash is planned for Rehoboth Beach on December 31. Packet pickup is planned at the Bandstand in Rehoboth fro 3 to 5 PM on December 30. Organizers say that picking up the shirt and bib the day before will make race morning go much smoother. Friends and relatives are able to pick up packets as well.
The race goes from the Rehoboth Avenue Bandstand to Gordon’s Pond and back. There is a quarter-mile kids dash as well. Register at Seashore Striders.
