Outside of his career, Richard found enjoyment in gardening and working through puzzles, pursuits that reflected his patience and thoughtful nature Above all, he was a devoted family man, a loving husband, a dedicated father and a proud grandfather. He will be remembered for his quiet dedication, integrity and the deep love he held for his family.
“As a neighbor, I would often see Richard out in his meticulous yard and garden when I would come home,” Mark Chamberlin said. “It was amazing how beautiful the vegetable garden would look. I could tell how much he enjoyed being outside in the summer taking good care of everything. One summer day, I was on a ladder behind our house and missed a step, falling on the concrete. Richard came running when he heard me and stayed with me until he knew I was okay. He was a good neighbor and man. I will miss seeing him.”
