The Delaware State Police arrested Jose Sanchez, 44, of Lincoln for a fifth offense DUI, terroristic threatening and related offenses. Sanchez allegedly threatened a co-worker in Georgetown.
On February 9, at approximately 9:45 AM, troopers responded to Donovan’s Salvage Works in Georgetown for a report of terroristic threatening. When troopers arrived, they learned that the suspect, identified as Sanchez, was involved in an argument with a co-worker. During the argument, Sanchez threatened to leave, return with a gun and ill the co-worker.
Troopers spoke to Sanchez on the phone and found that his car had broken down on Seashore Highway in Georgetown. They located Sanchez in his car and when they spoke to him, he showed signs of impairment. Sanchez refused a Standardized Field Sobriety Test and was taken into custody without incident.
During an inventory of the vehicle, troopers found a sword concealed under clothing on the front seat. A computer check showed that Sanchez had four prior DUI related convictions and a revoked driver’s license.
Sanchez was taken to Troop 4 where he was charged with fifth offense DUI; carrying a concealed deadly weapon; terroristic threatening; driving while suspended or revoked; driving an unsafe motor vehicle. He was arraigned by Justice of Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,700 secured bond.
