Milford School District recently announced that Kindergarten registration is now open. Children who will turn five on or before August 31 should be registered as soon as possible so the district can plan for the upcoming school year.
“The school registration process requires a parent or legal guardian to begin the enrollment process online,” Trish Gerken, Public Information Officer for the district said. “Once we receive your online registration, a Milford School District representative will reach out. The entire packet must be completed in order for your child to begin school.”
Parents will need to have a copy of their driver’s license or government issued identification card, the child’s birth certificate, and proof of immunizations or shot records. Proof of residence, which may be in the form of a lease, mortgage statement or utility bill. The utility bill can be gas, water or electric but must list the address where services are rendered and list the name of the person enrolling the child.
If the child has attended school previously, provide a copy of a report card or transcript and a withdrawal letter from the previous school. Other documentation that may be needed are legal documents concerning custody, an individualized education plan (IEP) or 504 plan.
To learn where your child will attend, visit the Milford School District school locater link. There have been changes to the school feeder pattern due to the reopening of Milford Middle School, so be sure to check where your child will attend in the next school year. Translators are available upon request. Online registration can be completed by clicking here.
The district reminds all parents moving into the district to register students regardless of grade as soon as possible. Families who are moving within the district or who are changing daycare information should also provide that information to the district as soon as possible for transportation purposes.
