Milford is gearing up for one of its most anticipated seasonal celebrations as the Holiday Stroll and Christmas Market return on Saturday, December 6, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event is expected to transform the downtown district into a festive winter destination filled with lights, music, and family-friendly activities.
“This is one of our favorite events,” said Sadé Truiett, Coordinator for Downtown Milford. “Bringing the Christmas season to life in our beautiful downtown is a joy. With twinkling lights in the trees, a cozy bonfire with s’mores, and live animals, it promises to be a magical evening for families.”
The celebration will feature Santa, who will take his seat in the Santa House to greet children and hear their holiday wishes. Local restaurants will offer menu specials, and several food trucks will join the festivities with seasonal treats.
Shoppers can browse specialty crafts and products at the Holiday Market areas, and children will find plenty of entertainment and activities throughout the evening. The event will also continue the tradition of the Holiday Love Drive, presented in partnership with Elevated Real Estate Solutions, which collects gifts for families in the Milford School District.
Donations can be dropped off at Elevated Real Estate Solutions during the Stroll.
Visitors can also participate in a raffle for specialty holiday gift baskets available at the Downtown Milford table. For every $5 spent at participating shops, guests will receive a ticket for a chance to win customized gift baskets that will include gift cards from many local businesses.
Organizers note that this year’s event is especially significant, with many new businesses joining longtime downtown favorites to create an expanded and lively marketplace.
A number of sponsors have contributed to making the event possible, including Elevated Real Estate Solutions, Cousins Maine Lobster–Delaware, Steel Bowl, Main St. America, the City of Milford, Delaware Division of Small Business, Milford Harrington Independent, Meineke Car Care and Studio You.
Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to mark their calendars for what promises to be a festive community gathering. The festival is free to attend.
