The numbers were eye popping. 16 strikeouts, just five balls put in play, three walks and most importantly zero hits allowed. That was the pitching line for Milford’s Bre Hall as the Buccaneers moved to 2-0 in the Junior League Softball east regional, with an 8-0 victory over Bristol Connecticut. The victory earned Milford a spot in the winners bracket final, to be contested today, Sunday, July 20, at 4pm.
Milford will face off against a battle tested New Jersey team, who dispatched Pennsylvania 5-3 in the other winner’s semi-final game. A victory would be huge for Milford as it would punch their ticket to the finals. While a loss would not eliminate the Bucs, it would leave them no margin for error as they would have to win three consecutive games to win the championship. On the flip side, winning this upcoming game, would give Milford a rest day and they would only have to win one out of two games on Tuesday.
