A GoFundMe has been set up for the family of a young mother who lost her life in an automobile accident Thursday, March 13. Elizabeth Draper was just 27 and a mother to three children, Cym’miyah, 11; Cartier, 3; and Jamari who is just six months old. Her friends, who called her “Lizzy,” set up the fundraising site to cover the unexpected expenses of a funeral.
“We are heartbroken over the loss of our best friend who everyone knew and loved as Lizzy,” Cristina Miller, who organized the fundraiser, posted. “She tragically passed away last night in a car accident at just 27 years old. Lizzy was the kind of person who could light up any room. She had the biggest heart, the loudest laugh and a way of making everyone around her feel loved. If you know Lizzy, you know how much life she had in her and how deeply she cared about the people in her life. More than anything in this world, Lizzy loved her kids. They were her whole world, and she was so proud to be their mom.”
According to the GoFundMe, Lizzy’s sister was traveling to Delaware from California to be with their mother, Eugenia.
“All funds collected will be used to cover funeral and memorial expenses so Lizzy can be laid to rest and honored the way she deserves,” the fundraiser reads. “Any money left over will go toward helping her mother, Eugenia, as she takes on caring for Lizzy’s three children and adjusts during this difficult transition. Any donation, no matter the amount, means so much to Lizzy’s family. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page or keeping her family, children and loved ones in your prayers would mean the world.”
The GoFundMe has a goal of $20,000 and as of Monday, March 16, almost $10,000 had been collected.
