Arlene Rebecca “Becky” Tatman passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026. She was 78.
Born October 15, 1947, to Zora and Virginia Tatman, Becky graduated from Felton High School in 1965. She went to work briefly at ILC in Frederica before joining Holy Cross School as a physical education teacher. She remained there for 41 years, making a positive impact on over 4,000 students.
After retirement, Becky enjoyed working at Loblolly Acres with her niece, helping with school tours and seeing her former students. When she was not working, Becky coached volleyball, basketball and softball during the 1970s and was an avid, lifelong baseball fan. She could spend hours talking with her friends and socializing. Becky was a member of the Frederica Senior Center, where she spent a lot of time, and an active member of the Frederica Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Becky is survived by her sisters, Doris (Sam) Hobbs and Elneta Sheridan; her niece, Cheryl Epps, who cared for her; her best friend, Mandy Slody, along with many nieces and nephews. Her greatest joy was that she recently became a great-great aunt.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Barbara Ann Warren.
The family will receive visitors to honor Becky’s life at Rogers Hovatter Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, on Thursday, March 12 from 5 to 7 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Barretts Chapel.
