
The Delaware Tourism Office (DTO) announced this week that tickets for FIFA World Cup Watch Parties would go on sale March 5. Fans will be able to experience every heart-pounding moment of the world’s biggest sporting event at four watch parties planned throughout Delaware.
“We will be hosting one party per county this June, bringing thousands of fans together to celebrate the Global Game,” Andrea Wojcik, Director of Communications, said. “Each event will transform the venue into a high-energy fan festival, complete with giant screens, live pre-match entertainment, local food vendors, interactive soccer activities, music and fun for fans of all ages. This is the only official FIFA World Cup watch party series in the state.”
On Friday, June 12, the USA v. Paraguay will be featured at the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark. The doors open at 7 PM with a match that starts at 9 PM. On Saturday, June 20, Germany v. Ivory Coast will be featured at Hudson Fields in Milton. Doors open at 2 PM and the match starts at 4 PM. On Friday, June 26, Uruguay v. Spain is the match at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington with doors opening at 6 PM and the. Match starting at 8 PM.
“On Sunday, July 19, we will hold a Watch Party for the World Cup Final at Delaware Stadium at the University of Delaware, Newark. Doors open at 1 PM and the match starts at 3 PM,” Wojcik said. “This is expected to draw up to 10,000 fans for a statewide celebration worthy of the biggest event on the planet. Capacity is limited at all venues, so early ticket purchases are encouraged.”
