Whitey Moore, 64, of Felton was arrested on January 10 for a fifth-offense felony DUI after a traffic stop in Camden-Wyoming.
At approximately 2 PM, a trooper patrolling westbound on Henry Cowgill Road near Dundee Road saw a GMC Sierra weaving in and out of its lane. After conducting a computer search, the trooper found the vehicle had an unregistered license plate. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, identified as Moore, showed several signs of impairment.
During a search, Delaware State Police troopers found multiple bottles of alcohol that had been consumed. Moore was taken to Troop 3 where he continued to show signs of impairment, and a blood search warrant was obtained.
A computer check showed Moore had four prior DUI convictions and was driving on a suspended license. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 after being charged with 5th offense DUI, driving while suspended or revoked along with multiple traffic charges. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $5,700 cash bond.
