Two new emergency medical service locations will soon be available in the area after different locations broke ground in Frederica and Harrington. Kent County Levy Court and the Kent County Department of Public Safety were on hand for the start of construction.
“We are beyond proud to be able to invest in the safety and well-being of Kent County residents,” Joanne Masten, President of Kent County Levy Court, said. “These new EMS stations will ensure our first responders have the tools they need to continue providing life-saving services.”

The stations are designed to enhance emergency response capabilities and ensure that first responders have the resources needed for these two growing communities. The Harrington EMS station will be at 501 Gordon Street while the Frederica station will be located at 137 Milford Neck Road.
The stations were funded through the American Rescue Plan (ARPA). County officials are looking forward to providing better response times as well as enhanced working conditions for EMS personnel. There will also be increased storage for equipment and vehicles.
