Jason Boyd, 45, of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania, was arrested March 4 by Delaware State Police after he pepper-sprayed a man after a traffic accident in Milford.
The incident occurred around 1 PM when police responded to 793 Bay Road after a crash that occurred when a 50-year old man from Milford, traveling southbound near Jenkins Pond Road abruptly hit his brakes when Boyd began tailgating him, leading Boyd’s Chevrolet Silverado to strike the rear of the other man’s Honda Element.
The two men pulled into the parking lot of I.G. Burton to assess damage and, when the 50-year-old man approached Boyd’s vehicle, he was allegedly pepper-sprayed. The man was treated for minor injuries by emergency medical services.
After contacting Boyd, troopers observed a can of pepper spray in his vehicle and that his vehicle registration was expired. He was taken into custody and charged with assault, 2nd degree and expired registration. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $2,525 unsecured bond.
The other driver was issued a citation for reckless driving.
