
Abbott’s Mill Nature Center along with the DuPont Environmental Education Center, operated by the Delaware Nature Society, have announced activities for March. Some of the activities planned include meeting marsh animals, programs for small children and nature walks.
On Saturdays through the month of March, DuPont Environmental Center will offer “Meet the Marsh Animals” from 1:45 to 2:15 PM. The program is free but registration is required by visiting their website and clicking on the preferred date.
Every Wednesday throughout March, Abbott’s Mill Nature Center will offer Wednesday Nature Walks where attendees can enjoy a relaxing nature hike. Each week features a different theme, and the walks are guided by experienced staff members. Topics include things like winter tree identification, bees and pollinators, beneficial and destructive forest insects, as well as many other nature subjects. The cost of the walks is $15 and registration is available by visiting here and clicking on the date requested.
For those who have little ones, the Knee-High Naturalists program continues in March beginning March 19. The program is every Wednesday from 10 to 11:30 AM and each week there is a different theme. On March 19, the theme is “seasons,” while on March 26, the theme is “weather.” The cost is $15, and adults are required to attend with their children. There is no fee for the adults.
