Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition will present the 27th Annual Breast Cancer Update, a free, virtual conference, on May 14 from 8 AM to 12 Noon. This program is designed to provide the latest information from breast cancer industry experts in diagnosis and treatment.
According to DBCC, prominent physicians from throughout the state will provide information on various topics, including Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) Population Health Research, Genetic Testing, Nutrition and Survivorship.
Delaware currently ranks first in the country for black women diagnosed with TNBC. Dr. Scott Siegel will present on the topic at the event. Siegel participated in a cohort study published in the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) Oncology. Siegel’s keynote speech on the subject will be moderated by Dr. Rishi Sawhney.
Dr. Kendra Flores will speak on genetic testing in a session moderated by Dr. Avani Virani while Dr. Caitlin Dunham will speak on screening recommendations in a session moderated by Virani. The program will end with Nutrition and Survivorship with DEMO, presented by Dee Iraca and moderated by Connie Holdridge.
The conference will begin at 7:30 AM with opening remarks at 8 AM. Closing remarks are planned at noon.
DBCC’s Annual Breast Cancer Update is unique in that it provides a 360-degree view of treatment, research and patient care. It is one of the few conferences attended by medical professionals, social workers, survivors, medical students and community members that is available at no cost.
