
Bayhealth is proud to announce the appointment of Angela Debo, DO as program director of the Bayhealth Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Debo has served in this role on an interim basis since July 2024 and was selected from a highly competitive pool of internal and external candidates.
As program director, Dr. Debo will lead the clinical and didactic training of the program’s 24 family medicine residents. She will also oversee the family medicine faculty, who are a critical part of the training.

As interim program director, Dr. Debo introduced several new initiatives and process improvements, actively engaging residents and fostering a collaborative environment. Her leadership has been widely praised by both residents and faculty, who have cited her vision and dedication to professional development within the department.
“I am thrilled to serve in this role to help our residents develop strong leadership skills to become the best possible advocates for their patients,” said Dr. Debo. “Our graduates are well-prepared to practice all aspects of family medicine, including inpatient and outpatient care across all ages. At our state-of-the-art outpatient practice, residents have the opportunity to lead quality improvement projects and contribute to ongoing efforts to enhance patient care and make a meaningful impact.”
Dr. Debo brings extensive experience and a strong academic background to her new position. She earned her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Before joining Bayhealth in December 2021, she served as assistant professor and clerkship site director at Penn State Health.
