In partnership with the Milford Police Department, the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Milford (CCGM) is offering an Active Shooter Training Program in the Community Room at the Milford Police Department. The program is planned for Thursday, March 12 from 9 to 11 AM.
“This will be a thoughtful, informative workshop designed to help businesses better understand personal and workplace safety,” Jo Schmeiser, Executive Director of CCGM said. “This collaborative training emphasizes awareness, planning and practical response strategies, providing valuable insight in a supportive, non-alarmist environment.”
The program will include information on response strategies as well as how to develop a workplace safety plan. Communication protocols as well as a Q&A Session with MPD leadership is also part of the program.
“Although we never hope to deal with an active shooter situation in any of our businesses, it is better to be prepared should the worst happen,” Schmeiser said. “With the recent shooting at the DMV office in Wilmington, the Chamber realized that this can happen anywhere and felt businesses could benefit from some training from the police department.”
Registration is required and can be completed by visiting the Chamber website. Simply choose Active Shooter on the events calendar. The Milford Police Department is located at 401 NE Front Street in Milford.
