
Bayhealth has announced the addition of fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon Marek Denisiuk, DO, who will serve as Director of Orthopedic Trauma at Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus, while also seeing patients at Bayhealth Orthopedics, Dover.
“Dr. Denisiuk is a talented orthopedic trauma surgeon and a wonderful addition to our team,” said Bayhealth Vice President of Physician Services Operations Dina Perry, MBA, CLSSGB. “You never know when a serious injury is going to happen, and our community should rest assured that at Bayhealth we have an experienced trauma team and excellent orthopedic specialists with the expertise to treat all kinds of injuries. Dr. Denisiuk specializes in treating serious and complex musculoskeletal injuries, including high-energy fractures, pelvic and acetabular trauma, post-traumatic deformities, nonunions, malunions, and bone infections. He is now accepting new patients for follow-up care.
Prior to joining Bayhealth, Dr. Denisiuk completed an orthopedic trauma fellowship at the Georgia Orthopedic Trauma Institute at Atrium Health in Macon, Georgia. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Michigan State University – Henry Ford Macomb-Oakland Hospital, where he was recognized for leadership and excellence in patient care. He earned his medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and holds additional degrees in biomedical sciences and biomedical engineering.
Dr. Denisiuk has published research on fracture fixation, trauma system optimization, and postoperative care in peer-reviewed journals, and he has presented at national conferences including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.
He joins a multidisciplinary team of surgeons and specialists at Bayhealth Orthopedics, which has offices in Dover, Smyrna and Milford. The practice includes orthopedic surgeons Darshdeep Singh, DO; John Burger, DO; Andrew Gambone, MD; Andrew Park, MD; and Henry DeGroot III, MD; sports medicine physicians Terrence Tsui, DO, and George Umeh, MD; podiatrist Dimitrios Moustakas, DPM; and a team of physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
