Bayhealth’s Resuscitation Teams at both the Kent and Sussex campuses have been recognized by the American Heart Association (AHA) with multiple Get With The Guidelines®–Resuscitation awards for their commitment to evidence-based practices that improve survival rates for patients experiencing cardiac arrest in the hospital.
The prestigious awards highlight hospitals that consistently apply the latest, research-driven resuscitation treatments to ensure patients receive the best possible care during life-threatening emergencies.

“This achievement reflects the dedication of our clinical teams to providing the highest standard of care in critical moments,” said Bayhealth Cardiac Clinical Nurse Specialist Dennise Washington, MSN, RN, APRN, ACNS-BC, CCRN. “Following the AHA’s proven guidelines means we are giving our patients the best possible chance for survival and recovery.”
The Get With The Guidelines–Resuscitation program helps hospitals establish consistent, high-quality response protocols for cardiac arrest emergencies. Participating institutions receive continuous education, data analysis, and performance feedback from the AHA to support ongoing quality improvement.
“Bayhealth’s recognition is a testament to its focus on using science-backed protocols to enhance patient care,” said Cynthia Keely, AHA program consultant for Health Care Quality. “Hospitals that follow these guidelines help ensure patients receive the right care at the right time.”
Bayhealth leaders say the recognition underscores the health system’s ongoing commitment to clinical excellence, teamwork, and patient-centered care across all departments.
