
Bayhealth recently announced upcoming classes for the month of April. Classes are offered at the Bayhealth Sussex Campus as well as the Kent General campus of the hospital.
Three birth center tours are planned for April, allowing expectant parents to learn more about the serene birthing suites and meet the staff who will welcome their new baby into the world. The tours are guided and questions can be answered about birthing plans during the tour. The tours are planned for April 1 from 11 AM to 2 PM, April 9 from 4 to 7 PM and April 15 from 11 to 2 PM. Guests should meet in the lobby of the Center for Women and Infants. Registration is required by calling 302-430-5739.

Looking for a unique way to manage chronic lung disease? Harmonicas for Health offers beginner classes that will teach those who have such a disease to play the harmonica which can improve lung function and strengthen respiratory muscles. Harmonicas are provided to those who demonstrate a commitment to practicing at home and doing assignmetns. There may also be virtual lessons available. The program is planned for April 1 from 1:30 to 3 PM at the Bayhealth Kent Campus Pavilion 1. Registration is required by calling 302-744-7661.

The Bariatric Program Support Group will meet April 2 from 6 to 7 PM in the Bayhealth Kent Campus board room and on April 9 from 6 to 7 PM I the Bayhealth Sussex Campus Conference Room 2002. The group is designed to provide education, assistance and support to those who have undergone weight loss surgery. Meetings are both in-person and virtual. On April 15, the Diabetes Support Group will meet virtually. There is evidence that connecting through a support group can help with management of diabetes. To receive the link, call Bayhealth Endocrinology at 302-401-1500.

The Better Breathers Club will meet on April 17 from 2:30 to 4 PM at Bayhealth Sussex Campus Community Room #1000 and on April 24 at Bayhealth Kent Campus Physicians Dining Room 3 from 2:30 to 4:30 PM. This is designed for people with COPD and other lung diseases, providing them with skills to manage lung conditions and improve quality of life.
