The monthly American History Series offered by the Milford Museum at the Milford Public Library will feature “Pickett’s Charge,” on Saturday, July 12 at 1 PM. The battle is one of the most famous military charges in history.
“July 3, 1863, has become legendary in American history as the final day of the Battle of Gettysburg in which Union forces stood steadfast against the invading Confederate Army,” Tom Summers, Director of the Milford Museum said. “Pickett’s Charge embodies the courage and determination of both sides who fought on that day and throughout the Civil War.”
Taylor Reynolds will explore the background and actions taken during Pickett’s Charge using first-hand accounts of the men who took part in the events on that July day, while also highlighting key Delawareans who assisted in defending the highwater mark of the Confederacy during the battle

He obtained a master’s in library and information sciences with a concentration in Archival and Museum Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. “Taylor researched and erected historical markers that highlight significant Delaware people, places and events in all three counties,” Summers said. “In the fall of 2022, he transitioned to Delaware State Parks where he was the Regional Volunteer Services Manager of four state parks including Fort Delaware. Reynolds accepted the position of Chief of Cultural Resources for all Delaware State Parks in 2023.”
