Superintendent Travis Moorman looked ahead at education in Milford for 2026, echoing what many town leaders felt was important in Milford – the sense of community.
“Milford’s strong sense of community between families, local organizations and schools is a strength that can continue to grow and be leveraged to support student learning, enrichment opportunities and real-world experiences,” Moorman said.
Like others, Moorman also saw artificial intelligence (AI) as a trend in education that Milford residents should pay attention to in the upcoming year.
“The thoughtful integration of artificial intelligence in education will be an important trend to watch,” Moorman said. “Particularly as we focus on responsible use, instructional support and preparing students with the skills they need for future learning and work.”
Moorman stated that what gives him the most hope for the upcoming year and Milford’s future is the students.
“The qualities reflected in Milford’s Portrait of a Buccaneer which includes problem solving, strong communication skills, collaboration, empathy and a strong work ethic, give us great confidence in our future,” Moorman said. “These skills prepare students not only for academic success, but also to contribute positively to our schools and community for years to come.”
